E-books on trial: CRCNetBASE

For about the next three weeks, we are conducting a trial of a collection of engineering e-books called CRCnetBASE. These are the electronic version of books published by the CRC Press and Taylor & Francis.

This collection is actually composed of different subsets: CivilEngineeringnetBASE, ElectricalEngineeringnetBASE, ENGnetBASE, MechanicalEngineeringnetBASE and TELECOMMUNICATIONSnetBASE. The whole collection can be acquired, individual subsets or individual titles.

Accessing the libraries’ electronic resources from off-campus

Remember that there are two ways of accessing the libraries’ electronic resources (databases, newspapers, e-journals, e-books) from off-campus:

  • log into myUSF (BlackBoard) and choose the tab “USF Libraries”. You will then be able to choose the Virtual Library or your favorite USF library’s website. A NetID is required.
  • you can also log into our proxy server, EZProxy. EZProxy will automatically configure your Internet browser for the USF Libraries proxy server. Since it is NetID / myUSF independent, it can grant you access to the USF Libraries with just your LibraryID. The LibraryID is the 205… number on your USFCard (also your library card). You may check to see if your LibraryID is active using IDChecker.

A new blog for the Lakeland Campus Services

Dear friends and colleagues of the Lakeland Campus,

I am happy to introduce a new tool for the Library Services, a new blog! This blog will contain news about the resources and services for the Library.

As always, please feel free to contact me about the various library services: research assistance, training and library instruction for individual or classes, new books and journals recommandations, inter-library loans, etc. Instructors, I’m available to visit your class to present on a range of subjects: library services in general, the catalog, specific databases, RefWorks, etc. Students, I’m available to help you use our databases and catalog, find elusive information or learn about the Libraries’ multiple tools and services.
