The EBSCO databases are currently down for all users. EBSCO have told us they will remain that way for another two hours at least (until 4PM).

Some of our EBSCO databases include Academic Search Premier, Business Source Premier, Criminal Justice Abstracts, EconLit, Education Full Text, OmniFile Full Text Mega, one version each of ERIC and PsycINFO, among other.

We have good news concerning USF Poly Library staff:

Laura Means, our part-time Library Assistant in the weekday mornings is now employed full-time. Among her duties is circulation, journals and new books processing and stacks maintenance. Congrats Laura!

Amber Ryder is now our part-time Office Manager. She shares administrative duties between the Library and other units on campus. Welcome Amber!

Supplement to the Faculty Research Review

We are publishing a supplement to the first issue of the Faculty Research Review. This publication, prepared by Business Librarian Lisa Zilinski, extensively lists USF Polytechnic faculty’s scholarly works – books, book chapters, journal articles and proceedings – produced in 2011.

When available, links to the library catalog or to the full-text content were included. If you’re off-campus, don’t forget to log in first into the USF VPN or the “USF Libraries” tab in Blackboard.

New resources at the USF Poly and FIPR Institute libraries

Here are the latest arrivals for the month of February. As always, Polytechnic titles are located in the New Books shelves in the back of the room. Reference and Faculty Publications are shelved immediately in their proper stacks. FIPR materials are shelved immediately in their proper stacks. The books from the circulating collections of both libraries can be requested using the interlibrary loan system.

To note, we received a copy a book co-authored by Dr. Vanessa Pitts Bannister, Curriculum-based activities and resources for preservice math teachers. As well, a new report published by the FIPR Institute, Remote Real-Time Analyses of Phosphate by Michael Gaft and Regis Stana.

Poly Paws for midterms - March 7

Just in time for midterms, Echo the Therapy Dog is making a special Poly Paws visit to the USF Poly Library Wednesday, March 7th.

Echo is a licensed therapy dog that loves to be pet, can perform tricks and can help you take your mind off of things, if only for a little while.
