Lakeland Fire Alarm Test

The Polk county fire marshal will be conducting tests on the fire alarms and strobes in the LAC and LLC buildings on Thursday April 26. The test will begin at 2:00p.m. and last approximately 1 hour. No news yet when testing will be conducted in the LTB building.

Link from MyUSF/BlackBoard fixed

Yesterday it was noticed that the link to the Lakeland Library webpage from the “USF Libraries” tab in MyUSF/BlackBoard was sending users to the wrong URL. Library users will now be automatically forwarded to the correct URL and use the webpage as if they were on campus.

Florida Library Association Conference

Last week, the annual conference of the Florida Library Association took place in Orlando. Yours truely, Catherine Lavallée-Welch, was a panelist on Thursday April 12th for a session organized by the Academic Section of FLA: “Information Literacy in Action: Florida Academic Libraries Share their Stories and Best Practices”.

National Library Week

From April 15th to the 21st, it’s National Library Week in the US. This year’s theme is Come together @your library.

And Tuesday, April 17th, is National Library Workers Day, so don’t forget to say “hi” to Amy, our Library Specialist.

New Children’s books at the USFL Library

These new books are currently shelved on the New Books stack, in the corner of the Group Study Area. Upon receiving new books, they will be shelved in the regular Children’s Books stacks. Theyare available for check-out.

These books are now available at the Lakeland Library. Please take note that, at the exception of the Reference books, all of these titles are shelved on the New Books stack, in the Group Study area.
