Diane Fulkerson recently joined the staff at the USF Poly Library as our Social Sciences and Education Librarian.
Her main duties are reference and research assistance; library instruction and information literacy; collection development and library liaison for the Education, Social Sciences, Technical & Professional Communication and, Digital Arts & Digital Media divisions.
Diane’s previous position was as a reference and instruction librarian at the University of West Georgia where she worked primarily with departments in education and social sciences. She also worked with the university’s first-year experience program and developed an instruction session to introduce freshmen to library resources through Google Books and Scholar. Additionaly, she worked with the education faculty developing synchronous library instruction classes for their online programs. She is active as well in professional associations and is currently finishing a book on remote access technologies for library collections. Prior to becoming a librarian, Diane worked in the corporate world and held positions in customer service, purchasing and IT support. She has Master degrees in both Library Science and History.
