New online reference works

The USF Libraries have acquired the following online reference works, with unlimited access for our faculty, staff, and students, from the publisher, John Wiley & Sons. I’ve put in the links to the record in the catalog. You will then find the link to the full-text. You can also find them in our Databases tool, MetaLib, searching by Subject.

Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology

Written by prominent scholars from industry, academia, and research institutions, Kirk-Othmer is an important resource in chemistry and chemical engineering that presents a wide scope of articles on chemical substances—including their properties, manufacturing, and uses. It also focuses on industrial processes and unit operations in chemical engineering, as well as covering fundamentals and scientific subjects related to the field. Environmental and health issues concerning chemical technology are covered. Over 10% of the content is updated annually yet previous versions of revised articles are archived. Contains over 1,000 articles with more than 600 new or updated. Monthly updates keep the online version current and relevant for today’s chemistry and chemical engineering.
