Florida Book Awards announced the winners for eight categories of books published in 2010. The Florida Book Awards program was established in 2006 to recognize, honor, and celebrate the best Florida literature published the previous year. It is coordinated by The Florida State University Libraries, and co-sponsored by the Florida Center for the Book, State Library [...] Our annual list of resources for Black History Month is now available. We list books, children’s books, journals and databases available at the Poly Library or electronically. Interlibrary loan will offer restricted services during most of Winter break (December 11 — January 3). Loan requests will be limited to USF inter-campus transfers only. For items outside the USF system, we cannot hold a backlog of requests during the entire intersession so we’re asking that you hold back on requests altogether [...] The Florida Publishers Association (FPA) presented its 2010 President’s Book Awards to members whose books were chosen as the best in 13 different categories and one special category. Based on high use for the current issues, turnaways on the unsubscribed issues, and high journal impact factors, the USF Libraries have acquired specific Wiley InterScience journal backfiles as a one-time purchase. With the purchase of these journal backfiles, access now begins with volume one through the present.
