New search engine for archives and special collections: ArchiveGrid

RLG, a not-for-profit membership organization of over 150 universities, national libraries, archives, historical societies, and other institutions with remarkable collections for research and learning, has launched ArchiveGrid. ArchiveGrid is a search engine of archives and special collections in thousands of libraries, museums and institutes. The service is available to both individuals and institutions free of charge through May 31st. Try it out and let me know if you think USF should get a subscription.

  • I’ve been waiting for a long time for a service like that and that’s because my wife works as a documentarist, and all the time she has to move searching for those documents. On the other hand, considering it’s a cultural service, it could have been interesting for the community if the service had remained free of charge.
