Library catalog update - some functions unavailable this week-end

UPDATE: All user functions have been restablished

Starting Friday, July 22nd, at 6PM, some user-driven functions in the USF Libraries catalog will not be available due to a software upgrade.

These functions will be unavailable:

Viewing of your user record
Self-renewals of checked out books
Holds and recalls of books checked out by another user
Email receipts if you return a [...]

Changes to "Find it @USF" - now easier to use

To facilitate linking to full-text resources, the USF Libraries have moved to a simplified version of the “Find it @USF” screen (aka SFX screen) on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. This is the screen that permits to open the full-text of a journal article, for example, from one of our article databases.

ILL suspended during break

Interlibrary loan will offer restricted services during most of Winter break (December 11 — January 3). Loan requests will be limited to USF inter-campus transfers only.

For items outside the USF system, we cannot hold a backlog of requests during the entire intersession so we’re asking that you hold back on requests altogether [...]

Computers under maintenance

The computers in the Library and Open Use Lab are currently being replaced by newer, faster models. We have already received new, bigger monitors. Not all of the machines are available yet. This includes the public access computer and the micro-form reader/scanner.

New, longer opening hours

Thanks to funding provided by SGA, the Library and Open Use Computer Lab have new, extended hours starting today, September 13.

ILLiad maintenance and downtime

The interlibrary loan system, ILLiad, will be down today, September 7, for a period of one hour, sometimes between 10:00 PM and 2:00 AM. The web pages and clients will be unavailable.

Please plan your ILL requests accordingly.

Longer loan period for undergrads

The loan period has been extended to 4 weeks for books from the circulating collection. It had been 3 weeks previously for undergraduate students.

Reference chat

The USF Libraries, including the Poly Library, has joined the Ask-A-Librarian reference network. This is a state-wide service regrouping academic and public libraries. You can easily start the chat by clicking on the icon on the Library’s front page.

InterLibrary Loan to Use NetID Log In

What will happen on August 4th?

ILLIAD/ILL will be shut down on August 4th for its conversion to the USF IT Central Authentication System. USF affiliated patrons will no longer be required to create a separate ILLIAD username and password. You will not be able to make an ILL request Wednesday so please plan accordingly.
